PRIMARY RESIDENCE – 2015
The graphic image of the house is built from a sturdy rectangle topped by a triangle. The icon presents shelter as a predictable matter of simple geometry, when securing such a refuge in the physical world is an endeavor far from simple, secure or stable. The cleanliness and order of this symbol is disrupted in Primary Residence by the irregularity of the wooden pieces and the wired required to keep them together.
These somewhat broken parts, bound by muscled determination, reflect the dogged resourcefulness required to build shelter as well as the sensations of stability associated with home.
